Hi Everybody
Go GIANTS!!!!........I had to get that out there right off the bat..."right off the bat", get it? Sometimes I'm so clever, I scare myself. Speaking of the Giants...Two home games ago, Tommy Castro belted out the National Anthem...he was so good, it teared me up.

The Blue Angels were flying around all last weekend, making me nuts and drowning out the San Francisco, Columbus Day Celebration.

Don't faint.......my website is being updated.....I'm not kidding. It's only been three years! Well, ok, two years.

Now for the really important stuff.

Anthony Gomes (rhymes with homes) is kicking some serious butt! 33rd St. Records, received a call from Borders Books & Music, requesting to carry Anthony's latest release, UNITY. The CD will be for sale in Borders stores nationwide, during the first quarter of '03. I went to Anthony's show when he was the support for Tommy Castro, at Biscuits & Blues, San Francisco. He was HOT! Try to catch Anthony Gomes at: The Red Lion, NYC, 10/17; Kclingers, Hanover, PA. 10/18; Black Eyed Sally's, Hartford, CT, 10/19. For a complete tour schedule Go To Anthony's Web Site

Speaking of Tommy Castro...he's finishing up his latest recording...and it's all blues! Can you believe it?! This CD is a tribute to some of his favorite Blues, Soul, and R&B artists. You're probably asking yourself, and those around you, "what is the title of this CD?". That is a good question. There is no title, yet. In fact a contest is being held, to name the CD. Go to Tommy's website , click on Name The New CD , and enter the contest. The winner will receive a new Fender Strat autographed by the Tommy Castro Band. The contest closes 10/31. Visit Tommy Castro Web Site.

Ok, the word is out. Jr Watson has a new release, IF I HAD A GENIE...it's on Heart & Soul Records, and it is nothing short of fantastic!!!!!I Yup! I'm working IF I HAD A GENIE to domestic radio & press, and I am absolutely thrilled! Buy IF I HAD A GENIE I promise... it won't "rub you the wrong way"...Sheesh!...buy it at: Under The Radar music group

You all know Lee Rocker.....well, he has a new release coming out on 33rd Street Records the title is BULLETPROOF. We're shooting for a 1/28/03 release date....there I go again "shooting for"...wasn't that cute? Anyway, BULLETPROOF by Lee Rocker is a really good CD, and I'm thrilled to be working it to radio & press. Keep up with Lee at LeeRocker.com

I just got off the phone with Hash Brown. The man is busy as sin! He sent me a copy of his latest, on Browntone Records, HAVE SOME FUN! It sizzles, and he's got some finer than fine guest musicians on this CD including Nick Curran, and Jon & Jay Moeller. Hash Brown and I worked together a few years back, when he was on Cannonball Records. We liked it so we're gonna HAVE SOME FUN! ... and do it again. Check Out Hash Brown's Site!

Clyde Stubbblefield was in San Francisco recently. He specifically asked me to say "hello" and "thank you", to all of you who sent good wishes and donations his way. He said he is "forever grateful". You may remember...in March The Funky Drummer was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He had to undergo treatment and had no health insurance. I'm happy to say he's on the mend, looks great, and is as much of a smartass as ever.

In my last newsletter, I mentioned how impressed I am with Pauline York. Her CD BLACKBERRY WINE really got me goin'. Well, Hal Horowitz gave BLACKBERRY WINE a WoooooHoooo review. It's in the current issue of Blues Revue Magazine...it's featured as the Hot Debut. See! I told ya! PaulineYorkBand.com

Anthony Paule backed up Jody Williams at the SF Blues Festival, and did a mighty fine job. Jody was with his producer Richard Shurman, and it was fun meeting both of them. This Friday, Anthony dresses up the Johnny Nocturne Band's sound, appearing with them at Ashkenaz, in Berkeley; Saturday, 10/19, Anthony backs up Grammy nominee Maria Muldaur, at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival. I don't get it! The Pumpkin Festival! Paule has a track on Raw Records' SAN FRANCISCO BAY'S BEST BLUES.The CD also features tracks by Angela Strehli, Sugar Pie Desanto, and others. SAN FRANCISCO BAY'S BEST BLUES should be in stores by mid-December.

I asked Detlev Hoegen to let me know what's going on over at Crosscut Records, and that's exactly what he did:
CCA 2004 John Kay's "Heretics And Privateers" vinyl version will be
released, next week.
On September 06, and 07 we have recorded the forthcoming live 2-CD album by our own roots rockers, Hank Shizzoe & Loose Gravel. Swiss television has recorded the show for future airing. Special guest on both nights was Sonny Landreth. We are expecting a beautiful battle of the slide guitars, a gem for lovers of great rocking American style roots music. Due for release next spring R.J. Mischo's new album will be a CrossCut exclusive, worldwide. It features Junior Watson and Frank Goldwasser on guitars. To be released in January 2003. (catalog no.
